Shunned by other car communities, they're making a statement by putting another brand's wheels (sometimes worth more than than their car) on.
What is the logic behind this? Some may say that they are OEM+ with a twist, while others are doing it because it's Vortex approved :p.
Most of the time the wheels coming from other car manufacturers do not bolt onto VWs hub. Thanks to the help of adapters, the bolt pattern and centerbore are made to fit the wheels on.
But how safe can a 25mm adapter be? How quickly will suspension components begin to wear out because of the forced widened track? Well it's likely most of these cars won't ever hit high speeds, given the fact that they're slammed, cambered, tucking, pulled, and running stretched wheels...
Hot? I think so.
